What is the BDA Competitive Company?
The Boutique Dance Academy (“BDA”) Competitive Company comprises Denver’s top dancers and performers ages 3 to 18. This competitive program is for dancers looking to excel in their dance training and support those around them. BDA’s Company dancers train several hours weekly in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Flexibility, Endurance, and more.
We are looking for dancers who are not only talented but focused, driven, and excited to be a part of our award-winning team. By joining our team, you will receive exceptional training while improving your technique and making lifelong friendships. You will gain confidence and learn the skills to be an independent, humble, and talented dancer.
Audition Date: Wednesday, May 29th, 2024
The 2024-25 company dance season audition date is Wednesday, May 29th, 2024.
This is an open audition. If you love to dance, feel the excitement of the lights and the stage, want to learn commitment and hard work, all while building lasting friendships then this is for you.
As a company member at Boutique Dance Academy you will be expected to show commitment, dedication, passion, an eager and positive attitude, talent and the desire to perform.
The audition and selection process take time. Please make sure your dancer understands the commitment required to be a company dancer. We want to stress the importance of following through. We are looking for dancers that are not only talented but focused, driven and excited to be a part of our award winning team.
What To Expect
During the audition we will evaluate your dancer on flexibility, technique and how they pick up choreography. To demonstrate this they will stretch, go across the floor and learn a combination. We will take into consideration both skill level and age when selecting dancers. Please make sure you arrive warmed up, stretched out and ready to dance.
Audition Times
3 to 6 yrs: 4:00 - 5:00 PM
7 to 8 yrs: 5:00 - 6:00 PM
9 to 11 yrs: 6:15 - 7:30 PM
12 to 18 yrs: 7:45 - 9:00 PM
What To Wear
We require all auditioning dancers to wear black. They may wear a leotard, a unitard, shorts and a crop top...any dance wear. Dancers may not wear t-shirts or sweat pants! Your hair must be pulled back out of your face. Please arrive dressed and ready to dance.
